Kevin Lien is an instructor at PCC, Rock Creek Campus. Kevin holds a B.S. from Stanford University, a M.S. from Portland State University. and a M.A. from the University of Portland. He has been teaching since 1990 in the following subject areas: Anatomy and Physiology, General Biology, Human Development, Microbiology and Environmental Science. Kevin is an avid hiker, birdwatcher, reader and gardener.

Val Brenneis joined the PCC-Rock Creek faculty in 2013. She has taught environmental science for more eight years, with students from grades 6 through college, most recently at Portland State University. Her research focuses on aquatic community ecology and the relationship between diversity, disturbance and invasive species. She also spent time working in environmental policy with the Lower Columbia Estuary Partnership. She received her Ph.D. in ecology from UC Davis, her M.Ed. in secondary science education from the George Washington University, and her B.A. in integrative biology from UC Berkeley. She teaches environmental sciences, forest biology, marine biology, and freshwater biology. When not teaching, she likes to spend time outdoors exploring with her family.
