Mechatronics Automation and Robotics - EET Option
From medicine to food processing to auto assembly to computer chips, mechatronics /automation / robotics – the combination of mechanical, electronic and computer engineering – is at the very heart of quality control, reliability, consistency and profitability.
It's a new, interdisciplinary field that is changing at a dramatic rate, driven by new technology, innovation and global demand. And it's one of the fastest growing careers in the world.
PCC Sylvania's Mechatronics /Automation / Robotics program offers practical knowledge to its students, exposing them to the integration of electrical systems, fluid power, electronics, computer controls, instrumentation and robotics. Students have access to state-of-the-art technology and equipment. They garner problem-solving skills enabling them to launch careers as technicians in manufacturing, servicing and repairing a wide array of equipment. Graduates also can assist engineers with the design of automated systems.
The program is an option within Electronic Engineering Technology (EET) at the Sylvania campus of Portland
Community College for students seeking an Associate of Applied Science (AAS) degree.
Those interested in continuing their studies can fully transfer to the Electronics Engineering Technology accredited Bachelor of Science program at the Oregon Institute of Technology. Many courses transfer to other four-year BSEET programs, as well.

Students can complete the EET AAS degree and/or the the following EET option:
- Associate of Applied Science in EET: Mechatronics Automation and Robotics
