The variety and range of works in this exhibition are testament to the cultural history of Portland Community College and to Art Beat, its annual celebration of the arts.

2006 - Three Kayakers

Each year, PCC acquires a piece from an artist of our region to add to its Art Beat collection. The paintings, drawings, prints, sculpture, textiles and photography that you see here are usually dispersed among the PCC campuses and not always easy to view.

But this year, to celebrate Art Beat's twentieth anniversary, we have brought together the entire collection. Seen as a totality, it mirrors the diversity of our own community: colorful, complex and rich.

The Art Beat exhibition opens at Rock Creek and will then travel to the Sylvania and Cascade campuses.
