Week 5 homework (October 19 to 22, 2026)
Note: Please try to finish the homework before the next class. You don’t need to send it to me because we usually talk about the answers in class. Also, when you finish the homework & prepare for class, it helps me decide if you will be ready for the expectations of Level 4 or not.
Homework from class Monday, October 19, 2026:
1. Preview Unit 5 (Student Book pages 65 to 80). Look at the blue grammar boxes. Look at the pictures. This way you can become familiar with what we will start to study next week.
2. Please watch at least the first two the grammar videos. This is easy to do on your phone. They will help you prepare for next week.

- Present Simple & Present Continuous — This is a longer video that talks about the differences between simple present and present continuous. If it’s confusing for you, that’s fine. We’ll talk about this a lot in class.
3. Workbook page 26, Exercise A. Try the exercise. For extra writing practice, copy the sentences into your notebook. We’ll talk about the exercise in class on Wednesday, October 21, 2026.
4. Continue to practice the clarification questions on your pink slip. We’ll review these next class.

1. Workbook page 27, Exercise B. Finish the exercise in your workbook, or, for extra writing practice, copy the exercise into your notebook. We’ll check your answers in class tomorrow, Thursday, October 20, 2026.
2. Student Book page 73, blue boxes and Exercise A. Read the grammar information in the blue boxes and then try Exercise A. We’ll talk about this in class tomorrow, Thursday, October 20, 2026.
3. Grammar handout: present continuous <– Click here for the handout I gave you in class. Complete the exercise on the handout or copy the questions and answers into your notebook. We’ll share these in class tomorrow, Thursday, October 20, 2026.
