Week 4 homework (October 12 to 15, 2026)
Note: Please try to finish the homework before the next class. You don’t need to send it to me because we usually talk about the answers in class. Also, when you finish the homework & prepare for class, it helps me decide if you will be ready for the expectations of Level 4 or not.
Homework from class Monday, October 12, 2026:
1. Workbook page 5, Exercise G. Complete the sentences about the seven sisters in the picture. Look at the example. Please write your sentences in your notebook. We’ll check your answers in class on Wednesday, October 14, 2026.
2. More practice with quantifiers <– Click here for the handout from class. Write about you and your group of friends. You can use the verb phrases on the handout or use your own ideas. We’ll talk about these in class on Wednesday, October 14, 2026.
3. (if you’re not finished) Writing: Who do you identify with? <– Click here for the handout from class. Finish writing about yourself. This is a “1st draft”, so pencil is okay, but please write on a paper to give to me and skip lines. We’ll talk about your writing, and you’ll turn it in to me.
Homework from class Wednesday, October 14, 2026:
1. Write about your family <– Click here for the handout. Write about your family members and use quantifiers (see Student Book page 8 for reference.) You can write on this paper. You can also complete the sentences on another paper to give to me; if you do this, please skip lines. You’ll give this to me tomorrow in class, Thursday, October 15, 2026.
2. Your goals <– Click here for the handout from class. Fill in the information about your goals. You don’t need to write full sentences; just notes are fine. We’ll write and talk about this information in class on Thursday, October 15, 2026.

Study Guide:
Unit 1 test preview
1. Listening section — You’ll listen to a conversation and answer True/False questions about it.
Study suggestion: Listen to the Kenji audio a few times to train your ear. Listen to the reading on page 7 of the Workbook (without the text) and see if you can answer the questions.
2. Reading section — You’ll have a short text about an English language student and some multiple choice (a, b, c) questions.
Study suggestion: Review the different readings we’ve done for this unit. Try the reading on Workbook page 7.
3. Vocabulary — You’ll have a few questions about places in a school: the location plus what you can do there.
Study suggestion: Review pages 6 & 7 in the Student Book, plus the listening sections in the Workbook.
4. Reading a bar graph and answering questions — It will be similar to what you did on the practice test, but about different information.
Study suggestion: Review pages 8 & 9 in the Student Book, as well as handouts and exercises that we did in class.
5. Verbs and short answers — You’ll see a few sentences where you need to write the correct form of the verb, plus a few questions where you will need to write the short answer (similar to Quiz 2 “Is there..? Are there…?”
Study suggestion: Review pages 6 & 7 in the Student Book. Review Quiz 1, Student Book pages 4 and
7, Workbook page 4, and any handouts and warm-ups we did about this.
6. Writing: I will give you two (2) questions or topics. For each one, write 4-5 sentences. The topics will be similar to things you have written about for homework the past week or two.
Study suggestion: Make sure you can understand the instructions for a task. Students most often lose points because they didn’t read the instructions.
