Tickets and Location Information

Oct 30, 1938. War torn Europe is under the fearful spectre of invasion. The American economy is staggeringly weak. The newest technological marvel is the radio, bringing news, entertainment and culture to the average citizen. On the night before Halloween, young Broadway wunderkind actor/director Orson Welles terrified listeners by merging false news broadcasts with an updated adaptation of H.G. Wells novella, The War of the Worlds. Proving the power of the media in less than an hour, Welles changed the medium forever. This world premiere production explores what happened moments before, during and after in the CBS radio studio and beyond. Done in “real time” (like television’s 24) the show builds in pace to reflect the suspense of the event as it took place. This is a multi-media event without an intermission, done in under 90 minutes. The show starts promptly as advertised, and latecomers risk not being seated. Come and celebrate the 70th anniversary of a legendary event and see a live radio play (and much more) done with live period sound effects!
