Demographics
Portland Community College is the largest institution of higher learning in the state, serving more than 1,373,758 college-age residents in a five-county, 1,500-squaremile area in northwest Oregon. The district includes the state’s largest city, Portland, and the most rapidly growing population areas in the state. PCC enrolls more than 86,164 full- and part-time students annually, or one in 15 residents.

PCC received approximately $26 million in grants and contracts in 2006-07. Approximately 57 percent of all full-time credit students received some form of scholarship, work-study employment, loans or grants to help pay their tuition in 2006-07. About 29 percent of all full- and part-time students receive financial aid.
