Welcome!
Good Students – – I am glad you are here at PCC and I hope you will take advantage of the many resources PCC has available to support you!
I am in love with history – – the issues it raises, the questions it explores, and the many interesting varieties of complex societies the world has developed. I started in Western Civ and continue to find it fascinating, but more recently I have mainly been teaching Asian History. Knowing the two trajectories of history has made me a better teacher and given me better understanding of the world. I’d love to share some of what I have learned with you and support you as you learn more about it for yourself! Please do not hesitate to contact me if I can support you in any way.

Fun book I’ve written: Ask the Ancients: Astonishing Advice for Daily Dilemmas
I was the speaker for PCC’s 50th year graduation ceremony: listen to my speech (June 2012):
Note: I am a Faculty Department Chair so I only teach two classes per term.
