American Independent Filmmaking 1990 to 1999
The ten years from 1990 to 1999 was a banner year for American independent filmmaking. All the planets were aligned. This 10-year period brought forth more revolutionary independently-produced films than any other time. (Excluding 1967 to 1977) In this class we will study this anormality and uncover the mystery of this prolific time. The films of Quentin Tarantino led the way for many other emerging filmmakers. I will find some hidden gems that will showcase the filmmaking culture of that time.
