Postwar Hollywood: Highlights of American Cinema 1945-1990
Join us for evenings of movies and discussions. We’ll explore highlights of American films produced during this time. In this class we’ll explore the art and history of American movies. We will focus on the post-war era from 1945 through 1990. The film industry faced multiple challenges during this time which caused significant disruptions of their business model. We’ll use these films as a launchpad to learn about the art, the business, the culture, and the evolution of American cinema. A collection of outstanding films have been selected for this course. Arrangements for viewing the films will be made available through a private Internet streaming service. There are no additional costs for accessing these the films.
