Steve and I have community colleges to thank for several reasons. We both first began higher education at two-year colleges in Illinois, which prepared us well for the universities that followed. Then I taught full time in the Humanities Dept. at the City Colleges of Chicago for many years, followed by teaching part- time in Art History at PCC once we moved to Portland.
So we’ve had plenty of opportunities to see the value of community colleges. There are amazing students at each campus of PCC, and we are thankful we’re able to help those in need ease their way forward through this excellent program.
