Basics of D2L Brightspace Series

To attend a workshop, just register and go to the designated location at the workshop’s day/time. If the scheduled sessions do not fit into your schedule or meet your specific needs, you may set up a one-on-one or group session by contacting an Instructional Technology Specialist.

Brightspace Info Session

info iconThis 30-minute informational session discusses the benefits of using Brightspace to enhance campus classes and provides a brief tour of an existing campus course site. It is also a great opportunity for instructors to learn more about the platform, convey concerns, ask questions, and get ideas!

Target audience: Faculty/staff who want to know about why Brightspace is being used more and more by PCC instructors.

Workshop 1: Getting Started

wrench iconThis 1.5-hour session not only introduces you to the basics of D2L Brightspace, but will also help you through the basic setup (Homepage, Announcements, and Content) for one of your own courses. Come to the session with course files that you would like to upload (i.e. Syllabus, Slides, assignment descriptions, etc.).

Target Audience: Faculty/Staff unfamiliar with using D2L Brightspace and/or uncomfortable with using technology.

Workshop 2: Online Grade Book

Equal sign iconThis 1-hour session is for instructors who would like to use the Grades tool in D2L Brightspace. Your students can track their own grades and see what their current standing in the course without having to ask you. Come to the session with a grading scheme for one of your courses and we will help you get it all set up!

Target Audience: Faculty/Staff who have an existing course site or have attended Workshop 1.

Workshop 3: Assignment Folders

document iconThe 1-hour assignments session will show instructors how to set up Assignment folders so that students can submit their assignments electronically. You save paper and have fewer emails to keep track of! Recommended: Workshop 1 or equivalent experience.
