8th week homework (May 26 and 27, 2026)

Note:  Please try to finish the homework before the next class.  You don’t need to send it to me because we usually talk about the answers in class.  Also, when you finish the homework & prepare for class, it helps me decide if you will be ready for the expectations of Level 4 or not.

Homework from class Wednesday, May 27, 2026:

1.  Verb list #4 <– Click here for the handout from class.  S to study the list of regular and irregular past tense verbs. Study suggestion:  Practice with a friend or family member. I will try to give you a list every week.  You will have a quiz on these verbs on Monday, June 1, 2026.

2.  Workbook page 41, Exercises F & G.  Complete the exercises in your notebook. We’ll check the answers in class tomorrow, Thursday, May 28, 2026.

3.  Online exercises with (not) as…. as….  <– Click here for a page with many links to online exercises that use (not) as… as …..  Try a few of them.  You don’t need to do all.  You don’t need to copy anything (unless you want to). We don’t have CALL this week, so I’m including this in your homework.

Homework from class Thursday, May 28, 2026:

2.  Practice quiz with Verb List #4 <– Click here for the quiz.  Try it many times.  This will help you to prepare for Monday’s quiz. Note:  The quiz is on D2L, so you need your myPCC username & password.

3.  Preview Student Book Unit 8, pages 115 to 121.  Look at the blue grammar boxes.  Look at the different kinds of activities there are.

4.  Student Book page 116, Exercise B <– Click here for the audio.  Read the blue box and try the exercise. We’ll check the answers in class Monday, June 1, 2026.

5.  Student Book page 118, Exercise A.  Read the information in the blue boxes and try Exercise A.  Please copy the sentences into your notebook. We’ll check the answers in class Monday, June 1, 2026.

6.  Pronunciation of “ed” in the past tense with Todd <– Click here for the video. Watch once or twice and think about the pronunciation rules for past tense regular verbs with “ed”.
