Hello! My name is Miranda Ramsey (she/her) and I have been a math instructor at PCC since January 2025.
I’ve lived in the pacific northwest my whole life, and moved to Portland in 2012 to attend college. I completed many of my required undergrad courses here at PCC over a decade ago! I studied Economics and Mathematics at Portland State University, and in both of those fields I developed a deep appreciation for mathematics and statistics.
In my free time I enjoy reading, vegan cooking, and powerlifting. I also love creating art in many media, from painting to poetry to music production. A long time dream of mine is to write and direct a feature length film.
In teaching, I like to treat math with a little bit of irreverence and humor to take some of the intimidation away. I believe everyone can enrich their lives through a deeper understanding of math.
