Liquitex BASICS Acrylic Paint Set, 6 x 22ml (0.74-oz) Tube Paint Set, Primary
Six-piece set available at Michaels, Dick Blick, Amazon or purchased separately at these stores. I did not find this product at Hobby Lobby—we are looking for primary colors. It’s important that you purchase the right colors. I am selecting Liquitex BASIC for economical reasons as well as their paint selection. You will need to purchase primary red (Quinacridone Rose—PV19), primary blue (phthalo blue –PB15) and primary yellow (arylide yellow PY74). You will also have to purchase white as well as black paints for mixing tones.

If you don’t purchase these colors and use other blues and reds, I can almost guarantee you will not get the correct colors. The other supplies needed for this class are:

  • Acrylic Paper or canvas (just make sure the weight is at least 130#)
  • Brush set—any will do—with sizes 10 or 12
  • Water container
  • Mixing knife
  • Rag
  • Paper towel
  • Apron/old shirt

Drawing Wild Animals

  • Permanent Ink pens (Micron 05/005)

  • Divider/compass (for measuring)
  • Blending stumps
