Happy Friday!
Today we started with small talk. You can talk about the weather, greet people, ask how they are doing, or wish them a good day or weekend. We will practice this again.
Here are the slides from today.
We also corrected the diagnostic test with groups.
In the middle hour, we went to the computer lab. The class logged in to MyPCC, paid for the parking permit, and signed up for Panther Pantry. Here is how to place a grocery order.
Next week, find the homework on my website: https://www.pcc.edu/staff/heather-dittmore/. I will not send e-mails after every class.
Here is Monday’s homework:
  1. Correct your diagnostic test. Use the key to correct your mistakes. Do not erase your first answer. Write your corrected sentences again.

  2. English in Action 2: Review pages 2-3. Read pages 4-5. Listen again.

    Click on “student”

    Click on “Level 2”

    Click on “Audio”

    Choose “Student Book”

Choose “Welcome Unit” and then the audio number (listen to 2, 3, 4, 5 for pages 2-3).

Change the speed.  Make it slower.  Listen again! Listen and repeat.

  3. Do late homework (questionnaire and alphabet) if you need to.

  4. Practice English! Practice writing sentences with the be-verb. Write about your classmates (name, country, language). Practice speaking English. Make small talk.

  5. Study for Quiz 1:

  • write capital and lowercase letters you hear
