Tech Requirements for the Course.

1. Everybody’s welcome.

Bring whatever Laptop music computer/DAW you use that works and can go online.

We should be able to make any computer laptop work but below is a good bet so things run smoothly.

 Notes for Students:

Some free and trial software will be downloaded and used—
I suggest you have a DAW installed on your computer.
Bandlab is reasonably easily accessible at $14.95pm (cancel anytime). 
All DAW’s are welcome:
Ableton, Logic Audio, GarageBand, PreSonus, FL Studio.

Chromebooks tablets and  iPads will not work for this course.

 LAPTOP COMPUTER.

Minimum Requirements: PC

Operating System: Windows 10 or 11 (64-bit)

Processor (CPU):Intel Core i5 (11th gen or newer)OR AMD Ryzen 5 (4000 series or newer)

Memory (RAM): 16 GB (8 GB minimum if budget is tight, but 16 GB is strongly preferred)

Storage:512 GB SSD (solid-state drive)External SSD optional for sample libraries

Graphics: Integrated is fine (no need for dedicated GPU)

Ports:Minimum 1 USB ports Headphone jack (or USB-C adapter)

Screen Size: 13” or larger (15” recommended for music software)

Internet: Wi-Fi enabled.

Minimum Requirements: MAC

Model:MacBook Pro or MacBook Air (2018 or newer for Intel Macs, 2020 or newer for Apple Silicon Macs)

Operating System: macOS 12 (Monterey) or newer

Processor (CPU):Apple Silicon (M1, M2, or M3 preferred) OR Intel Core i5/i7 (8th gen or later)

Memory (RAM): 16 GB recommended (8 GB minimum if using Apple Silicon)

Storage:512 GB SSDExternal SSD optional for sample libraries

Ports:At least 1 USB-C ports or adapters (for MIDI controllers, audio interfaces)

Screen Size: 13” or larger.

 Additional Suggestions:

Bring a pair of headphones (closed-back, over-ear preferred for isolation)

A USB flash drive or external SSD for transferring or storing larger audio files

Optional: small MIDI controller or audio interface (not required for all students).
