I’m Elan Polushko, a music producer, educator, and creative technologist in the Community Ed department. I teach AI & Music as a way to explore the intersection of human creativity and machine intelligence.
This course is really about discovery and experimentation. While we’ll dive into hands-on tools for AI-generated music, sound design, beat making, and mixing, we’ll also explore how AI can deepen your understanding of music theory—like chord construction, harmony, and arrangement.
My deeper goal is to encourage students to reimagine what’s possible—whether that’s composing with an AI collaborator, sculpting a new sonic landscape, or asking bold questions about the future of art and technology. Together, we’ll blend intuition and innovation, explore the creative unknown, and find new ways to keep music both meaningful and human in the age of intelligent machines.
