Hello and Welcome to PCC Community Ed!

My name is Shannon Paul, M.Ed.

I love meeting new PCC students, and am a lifelong learner myself.

In my Community Ed classes we adopt an “I’m Learning” philosophy. Rather than saying “I’m sorry” when we make mistakes, we instead say “I’m learning”.

The goal is to have grace with others, and ourselves, as we learn together.

Teaching credentials:

• I have over 20 years of teaching experience, including both indoor/classroom and outdoor/experiential education programs.
• I’ve taught all levels, from Pre-K to Adult. And, in multiple states, from Orange County School District in California to Jackson College in Michigan.
• My Master’s of Education is from Michigan State University (Go Green, Go White!)
• My Bachelor of Arts is from the University of California, San Diego. I am a proud member of UCSD’s Eleanor Roosevelt College first graduating class, originally called “Fifth” college. (Go Tritans!)
• I began teaching for PCC in 2022.

A little more about me:

• I remarried in 2025 and my hubby and I have four adult sons between us  (UofO, COCC, and two UofM graduates – Go Ducks! Go Bobcats! Go Blue!)
• We have one adopted kitty named Katie. She is fully grown but only 6 lbs, and can detect the smell of gas (a story I love to tell).

• You may have seen me around town. Before Covid shut the city down, I was a host for Last Call Trivia at Portland area restaurants as a side gig in 2019-2020, while recovering from carpal tunnel surgery.
