Week 3 (July 7 to 10, 2025) homework

Note:  Please try to finish the homework before the next class.  When you finish the homework & prepare for class, it helps you participate more efficiently and effectively.
Homework from Monday, July 7, 2025:

Student Book page 13, Exercises B & C.  Read the suggestions for learning English in Exercise B & write your own idea for #12.  Then, in Exercise C, write the numbers of suggestions from Exercise B that are appropriate for Ravi, Lian, Ketsia and Maria Luisa.  We’ll talk about this in class on Wednesday, July 9, 2025.

Homework from Wednesday, July 9, 2025:

Student Book page 16, Exercises A & B.  Look for the information in your textbook and complete the exercises.  We’ll discuss this in class tomorrow, Thursday, July 10, 2025.

Homework from Thursday, July 10, 2025:

1. Student Book pages 22 & 23, Exercises B & C.  Read the bar graphs and pie charts and complete the exercises.  You can complete the exercises in your book, or, for extra writing (and learning) practice, copy the exercises into your notebook. Examples for Exercise B, #1 and #2: Most Americans wear a seatbelt.  Ten percent of Americans don’t wear a seatbelt.  We’ll check your answers in class on Monday, July 14, 2025.

Note:  If you’re interested in the research 🤓 behind writing & learning, click HERE for an article from OPB. It’s in English and meant for an audience of native speakers, but you can probably put it though Google translate to get the general idea.

2.  Writing about you and your friends.  Write five or more sentences about you and your group of friends. Use quantifiers — all of us, some of us, none of us, etc.  Examples:  All of my friends speak another language.  Some of my friends are teachers.  A few of my friends are divorced.  One of my friends likes Kpop.  Write your sentences on another paper, skip lines, and use blue or black pen.  ** PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE do not use ChatGPT, Google translate, or another AI app. ** I want to see your writing (and errors) so I know what to focus on in class.  I’ll collect your writing on Monday, July 14, 2025.

3.  Preview Unit 4 in your Student Book.  Unit 4 is pages 49 to 64.  Look at the pictures, diagrams and blue grammar boxes.
