Note: Please try to finish the homework before the next class. You don’t need to send it to me because we usually talk about the answers in class. Also, when you finish the homework & prepare for class, it helps me decide if you will be ready for the expectations of Level 4 or not.

Homework from class Thursday, May 15, 2025:
1. Practice Quiz — Comparative Adjectives <– Click here for the quiz. (It is on D2L, so you need your myPCC username & password.) Please take the practice quiz a few times to practice for the comparative adjective “paper & pencil” quiz in class on Monday, May 19, 2025. Many of the same items from this practice quiz will be on the Monday quiz.
2. Study this comparative adjective list (<– Click here.) These are the words from a class activity yesterday. Practice with a friend or family member: They say the regular form, and you write or say the comparative form. For example: fast —-> faster.
3. Writing. Write five or more sentences that compare your hometown with another city in your country or with Hillsboro. Examples: Hillsboro is smaller than Portland. Hillsboro is safer than Portland. Hillsboro is more diverse than Portland. Portland is more famous than Hillsboro. Portland is more exciting than Hillsboro, but Hillsboro is more beautiful than Portland. Write the sentences on another paper. Use blue or black pen and skip lines. Try to give it to me in class Monday, May 19, 2025.
4. Reading: Mount Hood (<– Click here for the handout I gave you in class.) Try to read the text out loud (that means “speaking”.) Circle words for which you have questions about pronunciation. If you haven’t yet, try the exercises at the bottom of this page (<– click here.)
5. Preview the grammar: Student Book pages 102 & 104. Read the blue boxes on each page about the new grammar points. We’ll study and practice these in class next week.
