Week 3 homework (July 6 & 8, 2026)
Note: Please try to finish the homework before the next class. You don’t need to send it to me because we usually talk about the answers in class. Also, when you finish the homework & prepare for class, it helps me decide if you will be ready for the expectations of Level 4 or not.
Homework from class Monday, July 6, 2026:
1. Workbook pages 2 & 4, Exercises A & D only. You can complete the exercises in your workbook, or, for more writing practice, copy the sentences into your notebook (recommended). Remember you need to change the verb (-s or no -s, is or are) depending on a singular or plural subject. We’ll check your answers in class on Wednesday, July 8, 2026.
2. Practice with should & shouldn’t (links to handouts below). Please copy the exercises from each handout into your notebook. We’ll check your answers in class on Wednesday, July 8, 2026.
- Practice with should & shouldn’t for giving advice (<– Click here for the handout I gave you in class.)
- Should reference and sentences.pdf (<– Click here for the handout I gave you in class.)
3. Student Book pages 12-13. Please read page 12 “English is Frustrating!” You can also listen to page 12 <– click here. Then, think about what each student should or shouldn’t do to improve their English. Example for Maria Luisa: She should look for a conversation group at the library or online. Write a few of your ideas in your notebook. We’ll talk about this more in class on Wednesday, July 8, 2026.
4. Continue to practice the questions & answers that we learned in class:
- “Using Social Language” handout (with the faces)
- Practice the clarification questions (small pink slip)
