Week 9 (March 2 to 5, 2026) homework

Note:  Please try to finish the homework before the next class.  You don’t need to send it to me because we usually talk about the answers in class.  Also, when you finish the homework & prepare for class, it helps me decide if you will be ready for the expectations of Level 4 or not.

Homework from class Monday, March 2, 2026

1. Continue to review & practice:

  • the clarification questions on your pink slip.  Try to memorize them and use them outside of class.
  • Irregular past tense verbs on Student Book page 117 <– Click here for the audio.  Study the irregular past tense verb list. Practice with a friend or family member:  they say the present form, and you say the past form.
  • Vocabulary: Natural Disasters <– Click here for the slideshow. Scroll or use the arrow keys to move between slides. Make notes for yourself. 

2.  Verb list #1 <– Click here for the handout from class.  Study the regular and irregular verbs.  You’ll have a quiz over these on Thursday, March 5, 2026.

3. Student Book pages 132 and 133 — Listen to the audio in the “A” exercises and try to make questions for the pictures on page 132, Exercise B.

4.  Workbook page 51, Exercises C & D.  Try the exercises with Yes/No questions with was/were & did.  You can complete the exercises in your workbook, or, for extra writing practice, copy the sentences into your notebook.  We’ll talk about the answers in class on Wednesday, March 4, 2026.

1. Past tense handout:  regular verbs & puzzle.  Complete the sentence exercise on the handout, or, for extra writing practice, copy the sentences into your notebook.  Try the wordsearch.  We’ll check both tomorrow in class, Thursday, March 5, 2026.

2.  Reading:  “Snowmageddon” <– Click here for the handout from class. Read the paragraph about the big snow event.  Think about your experiences with snow or another major natural event (like a hurricane or earthquake.)  We’ll talk about our experiences in class to practice using past tense.
