Note:  Please try to finish the homework before the next class.  You don’t need to send it to me because we usually talk about the answers in class.  Also, when you finish the homework & prepare for class, it helps me decide if you will be ready for the expectations of Level 4 or not.

2.  Get your student book.  Here are instructions <– Click here.  This term, the bookstore is cheaper than online.

3.  Workbook pages 2 & 3, Exercises A, B & C (<– Click here if you don’t have the workbook yet.)  Complete the exercises in your workbook, or, for extra writing practice, copy them into your notebook.  Example for Exercise C, #1:  I am from China. We’ll talk about the answers in class tomorrow, September 25, 2025.

4.  Listening about class expectations (<– Click here for the audio.)  Listen to the sentences and write them in your notebook (like a dictation).  Then write TRUE or FALSE next to the sentence about our class.

Example for #1:  Students can come to class late. FALSE

5.  Video: Yes/No Questions <– Click here for the video we watched in class.  Watch it again for extra practice.  The video is on Youtube, so you need to click on SKIP ADS at the beginning of the video.

6.  Practice the clarification questions (the pink paper) that we learned in class.  Ask a friend or family member about things around your house.

2.  Syllabus questions <– Click here for the handout.  Review the questions about the syllabus on the handout.  You don’t need to write anything, but you *will* have a short True/False quiz about it on Monday, September 29, 2025.

3.  Preview English in Action 3,Unit 1 (pages 2 to 16).  Preview means look at the pictures, look at the blue grammar boxes, look at the “culture notes”, and the section titles on each page.  This helps you get an idea of what we will study in this unit. You don’t need to do the exercises.  This is just an introduction to the unit. If you like, you can preview Units 5 & 8 also.

4.  Workbook pages 6 & 7, Exercise J <– Click here for the audio.  Listen and write the questions in your notebook, like a dictation.  Example for #1:  Where’s the teacher’s office?  Then circle the correct response in your workbook. We’ll check your answers in class on Monday, September 29, 2025.

5.  Homework handout: Yes/No questions <– Click here for the handout I gave you in class.  Finish each question with a form of the BE verb, do or can.  Look at the instructions. Look at the examples.  We’ll check your work in class on Monday, September 29, 2025.
