Week 6 (May 5 to 8, 2025) homework
Note: Please try to finish the homework before the next class. You don’t need to send it to me because we usually talk about the answers in class. Also, when you finish the homework & prepare for class, it helps me decide if you will be ready for the expectations of Level 4 or not.
Homework from class Monday, May 5, 2025:
1. Grammar practice with adjectives. Complete the handout I gave you in class (the links are below). You can complete the sentences on the handouts, or, for extra writing practice, copy the sentences into your notebook. We’ll check the answers in class on Wednesday, May 7, 2025.

2. Continue to study and practice the adjectives on this handout: Reference — adjectives & adverbs.pdf (<– Click here for the handout from class). Listen to the audio (<– click here) and practice the pronunciation of the adjectives and adverbs. Note: You don’t need to study all of them at one time. Maybe study ten (10) at a time.
3. Song: Louis Armstrong – What A Wonderful World (1968 at the BBC) <– Click here for the video on Youtube. Listen to the song again. Try to sing along. Here are the lyrics (<– click.) Singing is one of the best ways to practice your pronunciation in English!!

4. Grammar videos. Review these videos about adjectives for extra practice. They give some good basic examples of each type of adjective. Note: All of these videos are on D2L, so you need your myPCC username & password to access the videos.

Homework from class Wednesday, May 7, 2025:
1. Workbook page 38, Exercise A and page 39, Exercise C. Finish the exercises in your workbook, or, for extra writing practice, copy the sentences into your notebook. We’ll check your answers in class tomorrow, Thursday, May 8, 2025.

Homework from class Thursday, May 8, 2025:
1. Prepare for your spelling quiz! You will have a spelling quiz on these adjectives — Reference — adjectives & adverbs.pdf — on Monday, May 12, 2025. Don’t worry about the adverbs. Listen to the audio (<– click here) and practice the pronunciation of the adjectives (the left column). Study suggestion: Ask a family member or friend to read the word in random order for you to spell.
2. Writing. Write five or more sentences that compare you and someone you know. Use the adjectives on the handout I gave you, or use other adjectives. Examples: My friend is more generous than me. My friend is kinder than me. My friend is more energetic than me. I am lazier than my friend. Write the sentences on another paper. Use blue or black pen and skip lines. Try to give it to me in class Monday, May 12, 2025.
3. Listening about LA & San Francisco <– Click here for the audio/video. Listen to Todd and Aimee talk about LA and San Francisco. In your notebook, make a chart like this (<– click here) and take notes about the information you hear. We’ll talk & write about the information in class Monday, May 12, 2025.
