Firewall Services

A firewall is a set of related programs or physical device located at a network gateway server that protect a private network’s resources from outside network users. Basically, a firewall examines each network packet to determine whether to forward it toward its destination or block it. Firewalls represent one component of a strategy to combat malicious activities and assaults on computing resources and network-accessible information. Other components include antivirus software and intrusion detection software.

PCC IT manages all perimeter firewalls and associated infrastructure for the district. Requests for Firewall services should be sent using our standard IT service request process.
