Domain Name Services (DNS)

A domain name is a meaningful and easy-to-remember designation for an Internet Protocol (IP) address. IP addresses are in numeric form (e.g. 10.105.99.99) and are associated, or “mapped,” to a domain name by a DNS server. Computers on the PCC network are typically mapped to a name within the pcc.edu domain.

PCC IT manages domain name services (DNS) and dynamic IP address assignment/reservations to all devices on the PCC network (both wired and wireless).  Website URLs, computer server hostname mapping and dynamic/static IP configuration should be requested using our normal IT service request process.
