Portland Community College | Portland, Oregon Portland Community College

Greetings, thirsty learners!

I’m part-time faculty, which means I’m only really reliably on campus around class time. I work in Environmental Public Policy in County Government M-F as a “9 to 5,” so I generally only teach evening classes at Cascade Campus. I draw on my real-world experience from 9 years at the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration and more recently in Local Climate Change resiliency work to inform the classes I teach. My teaching style is very relaxed and colloquial. If you want an exam-heavy course and a very strict structure and compliance organization, then my classes aren’t for you! My goal is to have you learn actual practical things that apply to your life and/or career, not academic exercise. Please review my rate my professor page to see some student feedback: https://www.ratemyprofessors.com/ShowRatings.jsp?tid=1921522

Thanks, and I hope to see you in the classroom!

UPDATE – I am currently serving as the interim dean of physical sciences until Fall 2023 and will not be teaching during this time.
