Hi!
My name is Kowkie Durst. My first name is pronounced cow-key. I use he/him pronouns. I am a potter as well as a ceramics instructor.
I live in Portland where I have my clay studio and atmospheric kiln, and where I like to grow food (especially winter squash) and raise chickens.
I grew up in a small town 2 hours north of NYC. I studied at Tulane University and received a BA in Anthropology and German. And then after discovering clay, I completed an MFA in Ceramics at Penn State University. Before moving to Portland, I was a resident of the Archie Bray Foudation in Helena, MT.
