Welcome!

I want to give you rough idea what to expect if you take my class by covering a few common questions. I also want to give you an opportunity to ask me any questions before the term begins. So feel free to reach out.

What will the class time look like? Our class will meet in-person during the times listed when you registered. There will also be videos that you will access outside of class time.

We will be doing a flipped instruction model. Which means some instruction will be done asynchronously each week. There are videos and notes for the asynchronous time. In class, we’ll be doing math together; working in groups on activities, going over new material and reviewing tricky homework questions.

Do I need to buy a textbook or a calculator? No, purchases are necessary. The textbook is free and available online. If you want a printed version please contact the bookstore. You can also purchase one online or print pages at the local library.

What are the notes/HW expectations? Notes are shared with you on D2L. You will watch a video and complete the notes before each class. If you have access to a printer you can print the notes, you can work electronically or you can work on blank notebook paper. Notation will be important so find a way to practice proper math notation early.  Your HW and group activities will be turned in electronically on D2L each week.
