Portland Community College | Portland, Oregon Portland Community College

Hey there! My name is Jim. I’ve taught at PCC since 2012.

I earned my Associate of Natural Science degree in 1992 from Ohlone College in Fremont, California. I then took an extended break from school, during which time I ran a restaurant for several years. In 2005, I moved to the Portland area and went back to school, eventually earning my Bachelor of Science in 2009, and my Master of Science in Teaching Mathematics in 2012, both at Portland State University.

In a typical class, I usually lecture for the first half, then leave the remaining time for you to work on practice problems, while I am there to help. I provide my own website for student use, where most of the materials for the class are found. You’ll be able to view lecture notes, watch videos, do homework, and track your grades, all in one place.
