Welcome to my homepage!

I have been teaching at PCC for over 27 years in the Computer Applications and Web Technologies department. I just recently retired as a full-time faculty member,   I am now a ‘happy’ part-time instructor.  I thoroughly enjoy teaching students new skill sets that they can use in their job, personal life, or to produce professional documents as a student.  In my past teaching experience, I have taught Beginning and Intermediate Word, Publisher, Access, PowerPoint, Professional Document Formatting, Filing & Records Management, all levels of keyboarding, Office Systems and Procedures, and InDesign.  I started teaching at the Sylvania campus for 22 years and finished my full-time career at the Southeast campus. PCC is a wonderful place to work and students make it the special place that it is.  Your success is important to me.

Online Courses

I have taught online courses for over 15 years.  The best advice I can give to a student starting an online course is to plan out your week and determine when you will work on each class.  If you were attending a campus class, you would meet for four hours so that will be the minimum amount of time to set aside.  I recommend 4-6 hours for this class, sometimes more, depending on the specific skill you may be learning.  Don’t give up if you get behind. Just move on to the next week.

My Hobbies and Interests

In my new retirement, I have spent the majority of my time working in my garden but look forward to road trips and hiking. I enjoy Zumba, walking, and seeing new sites in our beautiful state.  I also hope to volunteer in my community in an education setting.  I enjoy sports and cheer for the Blazers, Timbers, Beavers, and Ducks (I have to root for both the Beavers and Ducks since I have graduates of both–cannot show a bias!)

Hope you enjoy the class this term!
