Demystify AI concepts, build confidence, and explore how large language models are reshaping work, creativity, and everyday problem‑solving. Think critically about AI’s capabilities, limitations and ethical considerations.
An intro to the rapidly evolving world of generative AI – what it is, how it works, and where the field is heading to. Engage in discussions that make AI concepts tangible and relevant. Together, we experiment with prompting techniques, analyze real‑world scenarios, and explore how generative AI can assist with writing, brainstorming, planning, and communicating.
Class sessions will include guided demonstrations, conversations about the ethical use of AI, and reflection on our individual roles in shaping this technology as responsible citizens.
Learners are encouraged to bring their questions, curiosities, and personal examples so the course can adapt to their interests and foster a collaborative, exploratory learning environment.
About the Instructor 🤓
I have a Biology degree from Georgia State University and a Masters in Bioinformatics from the University of Oregon. My professional journey has been anything but linear. I wanted to be a college professor and now I am headed towards becoming a DevOps/Platform Engineer. I did not plan this path, but my curiosity has taken me to a lot of different places, and I hope I can inspire you on your own journey.
I try to be a good communicator of science and tech. I enjoy turning complex ideas and concepts into something everyone can learn from. I’m inspired by my own mentors, coworkers and teachers who have influenced me over the years. My goal is to give you the tools to be part of important conversations around AI within your community, work environment, and families. We all need AI literacy and we need to be active participators of how this technology will be shaping the future generations.
My ultimate goal for this class is for everyone to gain some value from our conversations regarding generative Artificial Intelligence.
