MCH180 Turning Machines & Operations
Covers setup, applications, parts, and operation of various types of lathes. Introduces the commonly performed operations of drilling, reaming, counterboring, countersinking, spotfacing, tapping, maintaining/aligning, parallel turning, facing, filing, knurling, grooving, cutting radii, cutting tapers, and parting on various types of turning machines used to produce part features to print specifications. This course is also offered as APR 180M; a student who enrolls in this course a second time under either designator will be subject to the course repeat policy. Prerequisite: (APR 100M or MCH 100) and (APR 121M or MCH 121). Audit available. (See course content and outcomes.)
