Course materials

No textbooks required

This class is being offered in Zoom, so students need to have a working microphone and, if possible, a webcam.  All class materials will be available online and can be downloaded and printed.  Some of the homework will be from the class materials, and other homework will be completed online.

Instructor comments:

This class is designed for ESOL Level 4 and Level 5 students.  Level 6 students are also welcome if they need to improve their vocabulary.

The vocabulary words that we will study in this class are words that are frequently used in spoken and written English but are still difficult for Level 4 and 5 students.  Most of the new words will come from a list of the 1000-2000 most frequent words in English.  We will also talk about how to learn new vocabulary, and we will practice ways to learn and remember new vocabulary.
