Ceramics: Hand Building Projects At Home

Campus contacts

Explore clay at home, using prepared kits. Projects could include: a mug, small plate, tile or plaque, sculpture, a house form. Pick up materials at a SE Portland studio, and also drop projects there for firing and glazing.

Session 1: Pinch Pot Vessel or Sculptural Form with Lid. Session 2: Slab Coffee Mugs and Small Plates with Texture Session. 3: Coil Vase or Sculptural Form. Session 4: Slab Architecture (House Form). Session 5: Tiles: Name or Number Plaque with Texture and Slips. Session 6: Glazing for all projects. This studio does not allow outside clay. Outside glaze must be pre-approved. Firing turnaround is based on workflow, and may be slow at times, but all glazed work that is returned by May 17 will be processed by June 1st. Class also includes tips for setting up a home space, clay work with kids and how to get more advanced work out of basic projects.
