Introduces the basic features of Microsoft Office, Windows basics, and file management. Develops familiarity with Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, email, and Internet basics. Provides an overview of the MyPCC Portal website. Covers components of the Internet and Computing Core (IC3) program content. Recommended: RD 115 and WR 115 and keyboarding by touch. This course and the content is specific to Microsoft Office 365/2019. You may complete this course using either Windows 8 or Windows 10. If you are using Office 2016, there may be some minor differences between the 365/2019 version, however, those differences should not prevent you from succeeding in the class.

Mac Users: This class covers Microsoft Office 2019/365 and Windows 10. The only Office version for the Mac that will work for this class is Office 365, 2016 or 2019 for Mac. Please be aware that MS Access is not part of the Mac software. You will have to use the "remote" PCC computer lab to complete the Access module. You can log into the "remote" PCC computer lab from home. More information about the "remote" computer lab will be provided within the class.

This can be an exciting way to learn but there are requirements. This is not a self-paced class. There are specific assignments and due dates. You must log in several times each week and be prepared to be an active participant.

Remote Course Information:

Due to the on-going Covid-19 pandemic, we will not be meeting on campus this term. This class is a "remote" class. Since you will be completing this class from home, we will meet remotely in our online video class once/week on Wednesday's, as listed in the PCC class schedule. The class meetings will be composed of lectures, discussion, guided tutorials, and hands-on activities. You are required to log into our "live" online video class each week when we meet. These weekly classes will be recorded so if you are unable to attend a class, you will still be able to view the lectures and discussions. In addition to our weekly meetings, you will have other activities, readings and assignments that you will complete online each week.
