9WRI611K Weekend Memoir Workshop: Your Story is Important

Campus Contacts

Bring your ideas or written pages, and we'll begin again until we see that we can write the memoir we're meant to write. We'll generate new material, study the masters, claim our stories and support each other. For all levels. Bring food/drink.

In this multi-day workshop, we'll assess our progress on our current memoir endeavors and continue to make progress. Friday, we'll talk about our projects, goals, and strategies. You don't have to have begun to continue so please be brave. The world needs your story. Saturday, we'll generate new material, study the craft of writing and get a miniature MFA-like look at the literary canon. We'll study language, anthropology, psychology, and geography to gain insight into the many possibilities. Then we'll learn some editing strategies that work when all the material is gathered, but not yet organized.

Bring your manuscript if you have one. If you don't, you'll begin. By the end, you'll have some pages.

Write down the CRNs (ex. 22398) of your selected classes to register.
