From the Instructor:
Welcome to GRN 256, Dementia Care Practice. GRN 235, Introduction to Dementia Care is a pre-requisite for this course. This course uses analysis and problem-solving skills in a variety of case study scenarios presenting complex advanced behavioral and cognitive care issues. Students learn to apply best practices for dealing with challenging cognitive and behavioral issues, follow care plans, provide appropriate documentation and work collaboratively with all stakeholders, including multidisciplinary teams, medical and healthcare professionals, family, and community members. I encourage students to do the online orientation if they are new to distance learning and D2L. I also encourage students to attend the Fall Term Gerontology Orientation on Monday, September 21st, from 5 to 7pm in TCB107.
