From the Instructor:
Hello! I am Annette Lansing, the instructor for GRN280B Gerontology Internship Seminar. This is a Career Management Course and is required for all Gerontology Certificates and the AAS Degree. The course prepares students for issues they will encounter in internships and in jobs in the field of aging. Topics covered include: experiential learning, learning styles, conflict management, communication, organizations, team work, supervision, stress management and burnout prevention, finding your purpose and nurturing your passion. Therefore the recommendation from past students is that this course be taken BEFORE you do any of your Gerontology Internships (GRN280A), but if necessary, GRN280B and GRN280A can be taken during the same term. For questions on this class, contact me at annette.lansing@pcc.edu. Contact Jan Abushakrah at jabushak@pcc.edu, 971-722-4077 to get registered for GRN280A (the actual Internship) and for advising.
