This course has been carefully crafted to serve as a pivotal and integrative educational experience, bringing together the knowledge and skills you have acquired throughout your academic program.

In BA 295, our focus is on synthesizing the wealth of knowledge gained from various courses in your program. This involves thoughtfully integrating concepts, theories, and practical insights to analyze and solve complex real-world problems and challenges. Our goal is to provide you with a holistic perspective, allowing you to see the interconnectedness of the management field.

The course places a strong emphasis on the practical application of skills. You will have the opportunity to demonstrate your ability to translate theoretical concepts into actionable strategies, showcasing your aptitude for addressing challenges in a real-world context. This application of skills is a crucial aspect of your academic journey, ensuring that you not only understand the theories but can also effectively employ them in professional situations.

As you embark on this capstone journey, keep in mind that the overarching objective is to leave the program with a profound understanding of your field and the confidence to apply that knowledge in various professional scenarios. I look forward to guiding you through this transformative experience and witnessing the growth and application of your management expertise.

It's worth noting that this class is a "Hybrid Class," utilizing a virtual classroom and online learning. Allow me to provide you with an overview of our Remote + Online class, which combines the benefits of virtual face-to-face interaction through Zoom for the remote component and utilizes the Internet for a fully asynchronous learning experience.

The remote aspect of our class involves live sessions conducted via Zoom, providing you with a virtual face-to-face classroom setting. Through this platform, you will have the opportunity to actively engage with the course material, participate in discussions, and interact with both the instructor and your peers in real-time. Zoom offers a dynamic and interactive environment that seeks to replicate the traditional classroom experience, allowing for meaningful connections and immediate feedback.

On the other hand, the online element of the class leverages the Internet to facilitate a fully asynchronous learning experience. This means that you have the flexibility to access course materials, lectures, and assignments at your own pace and convenience. The asynchronous nature of the online component allows for greater flexibility, catering to diverse schedules and enabling you to manage your time effectively.

By combining these two elements, our Remote + Online class aims to offer a comprehensive and adaptable learning environment. Whether engaging in real-time discussions through Zoom or navigating course content at your own pace online, our goal is to provide you with a rich and flexible educational experience that meets the demands of your academic journey.

About me – Michael Hohn, and what you can expect in a class with me...

You can anticipate an educational experience deeply rooted in my strengths-based teaching philosophy. I believe in recognizing and nurturing the unique talents and potential within each student. The emphasis is on understanding and appreciating what you, the student, do best, ensuring that every individual is aware of their strengths. Rather than focusing on what is lacking, the approach centers on what is right with each student.

Classes with me are positive, encouraging, and geared towards empowering students to recognize and leverage their strengths. The learning environment is supportive, with an emphasis on fostering a sense of confidence and self-awareness. Additionally, my belief in the inherent worth of each student and the idea that all students are wonderfully and beautifully made will contribute to a classroom atmosphere that values diversity and promotes a sense of inclusion and acceptance.

Technology

I would like to highlight the importance of ensuring that your technology setup meets the specified requirements outlined in the Online Learning Technical Requirements. While no special technology beyond those listed is required, proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly in MS Word, PowerPoint, and Excel, is crucial for active participation in various assignments and projects.

Furthermore, it is imperative to have Adobe Reader installed on your device, as it will be utilized for reviewing and accessing specific course materials. This step is essential to ensure that you can fully engage with the content and make the most of the learning experience.

No show policy

Your instructor can mark you as a "no show" if you do not participate in your class during the first week. This will remove you from the class. It is important to log in as soon as the class starts to see what the participation requirements are.
