Our class meets once per week on

Mondays . Class format includes:

1. Full vocal and physical Warmups

15 min

2. Harmonizing and blend 10 min

Pass out music 5min

3.  Review notes and passages in choral material by section 20min

Break 10 min

4.  Upon the discretion of the instructor

work the class as an ensemble or in sectionals according to vocal classifications soprano,alto,tenor,bass

20 min

5.  review/ Q&A on material 10

6. Movement (if necessary for song)

whether choreographed or simple classic gestures or repositioning

7. Introduce a new song. We will focus on those sections that are challenging to the ensemble. This segment can also include (language, rhythm, most difficult passage )

You are allowed to use a phone or iPad to record if not disruptive to the class.


Sign in at the door upon arrival and sit in assigned seat  in your section . Seating may shift in different songs so please make note of it and keep tabs on who is on either side of you once the seating has changed. 

Be Respectful and hold space for your fellow choir member to feel connected to and a viable part of our community.

If you are feeling sick and coughing or sneezing , put on your mask and sit in the back of the rehearsal space. If you are experiencing yellowish or green mucous don’t come to class.

No class will be held in person on  Monday of October 10. We will have a virtual clinic on vocal technique.

Suggested supplies

Must have black notebook 

Keep music clean and only use a mechanical pencil to make notes in the music. Also obtain an eraser for corrections.

Hydrate by bringing a water bottle that closes to avoid spills

For Performances

Arrive by call-time 

begin physically warming up and centering exercises on your own. 
Our collective warmups will focus mostly on upper body, breathing and vocalises.

Attire: Black concert clothing.

Long sleeved dress shirts, slacks, black socks and dress shoes.
black dresses or shirts with sort  sleeves (no sleeveless dresses)

knee length with black tights and black close toed shoes.
We will discuss possibly ordering online  the first day of class.

We will also wear robes supplied by the school.

There are several opportunities to perform both on campus snd off.

When on campus we will gather 30 min

before and warmup

offsite performances students handle their own transportation. Shuttling as a group of 3 or 4 and sharing the rides

has been an excellent way for students to travel.

Camaraderie and building community through teamwork makes for a better choir.
