Details about this class

I invite you to view highlights of the syllabus for information about this course.

For a quick synopsis, for this RD 115 course, you'll be reading a novel that you'll need to purchase, but the other reading materials will be provided for you. You will need a phone or a computer with a microphone for a few activities during the term. You will schedule two virtual conferences with me during the term. You'll want to block out some dedicated time each week to work on the class, at least three times a week.

You will be using Google docs to complete and submit assignments. Most of the assignments are set up for you to complete individually, but there will also be a few opportunities to work virtually in small groups.

The online discussions are the most interactive part of this class because they involve posting your own original ideas about the readings and responding to the posts of others. Some weeks we will be using the traditional text discussion tool in D2L Brightspace, and other weeks we'll be using a different tool called "VoiceThread." This special tool allows you to record your voice and even add a picture or video as part of your post. Adding your voice and potentially media to a discussion makes it a more engaging experience.
