Details about this class

The most frequent question I get when students are planning for this class is whether or not attendance is required.

The short answer is Yes. The heart of this experience is our once-per-week two-hour in-person live and sparkling discussion with me and your classmates! Without these discussions and brief lectures, you will miss out on the inspiration you need to complete the reading and writing necessary for success in this class.

Please plan to dedicate two hours of your time to being with us in person for 10 class sessions.

However, if you are sick or a family member is sick, please take care of yourself and your classmates by communication with me as soon as you can. You and I can work out a way for you to keep up with the coursework via email and D2L for a brief time while you recover.

This is an in-person class! I'm so excited to get to meet you all and have real-life discussions.

Please be aware, however, that if we HAVE to meet on-line at some point due to public health issues, I will hold class via Zoom through our D2L page. I will show everyone how to access this page on the first day of class because our reading and note-making materials appear on this page, as well as access to Zoom.

In order to meet with us through Zoom - should that become necessary - you will need at the minimum a device (computer or smartphone) with the Zoom app. Ideally, you will have a microphone so you can participate, but a camera is optional.

My hope is that we will be able to meet in person for every class! Please remember that we will use D2L for much of the homework, so you will want to be active on MyPCC throughout the term.
