Details about this class

Welcome to Spanish 201! I look forward to working with you. This course has 2 in-person class meetings per week! Please note that students are highly recommended to take SPA 201 and SPA 211C simultaneously.

SPA 211C is a one-credit conversation course that meets twice a week for 25 minutes (50 min/week). For this particular SPA 201 (CRN 40113), your recommended 211C is CRN 40447, MW from 6:00-6:25am. This conversation class meets right before your 201, and it’s taught by the same instructor.

Why should I take SPA 211C?  In the conversation class,  you will have an opportunity to practice what you are learning in SPA 201. Students who don’t take 211C will have 10 hours fewer of practice of the Spanish language than the classmates who take 211C. Communication is the main goal of our SPA program, and 201 + 211C is the perfect combination to develop your communicative skills (aural and oral).

Required technology for this course includes a computer with a reliable Internet connection, microphone, and webcam. If you have questions or concerns about the required technology, please contact your instructor. Platforms for this course include Zoom, D2L Brightspace, and VHL Supersite (included in the textbook package sold through the PCC bookstore).

Our textbook includes access to the online platform where you will complete all homework assignments.  If you purchase the textbook used, please note that you will then need to purchase a $165 access code to the online platform here: https://vistahigherlearning.com/store/panorama-6th-edition.html

If you purchase the textbook new at the PCC bookstore, it already comes packaged with the access code.

This book and code will be used for three courses:  SPA 201, 202, and 203 (no additional materials required)
