Details about this class

This class is a face to face class on Cascade campus. We have class twice a week and attendance and participation is expected. 

Technology

We will be using Webwork for much of the homework. Webwork is an open-source, free online homework platform. You will be able to access this from our class page in D2L. You need access to the internet while doing homework. Computers and internet access are available on campus. http://www.pcc.edu/resources/computer-labs/  Some homework will need to be scanned and submitted on D2L. The etext for our class is open resource and will also be accessible on our class page. In addition to this:

  • We will use and open resource graphing utility called Desmos. Desmos can be used in a browser or as an app on a smart phone or tablet.
  • have ability to scan written documents to PDF format using a scanner or scanner phone app.
  • A scientific calculator

Access to a printer is helpful but not required. This link will give you more info about printing on campus. printing web page

There are videos for each section we cover. Watching these is not generally required but many students have said how helpful they have been if you need more examples or another explanation of the content we are covering in class. 

Online class information

No show policy
Your instructor can mark you as a "no show" if you do not participate in your class during the first week. This will remove you from the class. It is important to log in as soon as the class starts to see what the participation requirements are.
