Information Technology (IT)


IT encompasses diverse teams with a wide array of talent, expertise and knowledge across the spectrum of technology in use at PCC. While our focus is technology, IT teams greatly value the relationships built while contributing to the overall success of faculty and staff at PCC.

The Chief Information Officer and Administrative Support – head our organization, providing oversight, strategic direction and overall vision, and developing relationships with other organizations inside and outside of PCC. IT Administrative Support staff coordinate these activities and provide logistical support to all of IT.

Information Security – includes a manager and cyber security specialist who are technical experts in the area of cyber security and the tools and processes required to protect PCC’s cyber assets and its user community. They continually monitor our systems and services and manage response to any threats.

Client Support Division – includes Campus Technology Support, Customer Support & Communications, Media Services, and Video Production:

Campus Technology Support – led by Campus Managers and include local campus teams supporting the computers in your workspace and classrooms. You may work with them when you're getting a new computer installed or having difficulty with your current computer, printer or other technology issue. Campus Managers are located at Sylvania, Cascade, Rock Creek and South East and their teams provide services for all campuses and centers throughout the district.

Customer Support and Communications – if you have a problem or need some help, start with us. Our main job is to be the liaison for your technology solutions. Our teams include: Customer Support (PCC Computer Help Desk, Training, Purchasing), Web Development and Applications Support and Development.

Media Services – provides all audio-visual support necessary in the classroom to facilitate the instructional goals of PCC. Our priority is to support classroom technologies first and all other users on an as-available basis.

Video Production – supports video conferencing classrooms (Interactive Video Classrooms – IVC), PCC's cable channel 27, rich media lecture capture and administrative video production. "Assistive Technology" is also provided for the office of students with disabilities.

Technical Services Division – includes Telecommunications, Network Infrastructure, Server Admin, and Operations. Each of these teams have a manager and technicians who work behind the scenes taking care of the data servers, phone and network systems etc. You may work with technical services when you have a LAN (Local Area Network) request, get back-up restored for your computer or obtain security privileges. Application Development Division – includes Banner Support, Web Development and Applications Support and Development. Each of these teams have a manager and technicians who do business process analysis and build applications in support of college services and departments.
