Val Brenneis joined the PCC Rock Creek faculty in 2013. Dr. Brenneis teaches environmental science, forest biology, environmental restoration, and freshwater biology. She works with partners to improve access to the Environmental Studies Center and restore the ecological condition of this amazing living lab.  She received her Ph.D. in ecology from UC Davis, her M.Ed. in secondary science education from the George Washington University, and her B.A. in integrative biology from UC Berkeley. Her research focused on aquatic community ecology and the relationship between diversity, disturbance and invasive species.  When not teaching, she likes to spend time outdoors exploring with her family.

Past coordinators:  Many thanks to Kevin Lien, Tom Robertson and other PCC staff for their careful stewardship of the RCESC over the years.
