National College of Natural Medicine

National University of Natural Medicine is the oldest accredited naturopathic medical college in North America. It is located just south of downtown in southwest Portland. They offer 2 Bachelor of Science degrees, 6 Master's degrees and a Doctor of Naturopathic Medicine degree and a Doctorate in Oriental Medicine degree. Approximately 570 students are enrolled.

The prerequisites listed in the preceding section are NCNM’s minimum academic requirements. Students are strongly encouraged to take additional courses in Biochemistry or Cellular Biology, Anatomy, Physiology, Genetics, Botany, Statistics, and Business/Marketing. Other suggested courses that help prepare for studies at NCNM include Biomedical Ethics, Philosophy of Science, Public Speaking, Microbiology, Immunology, and Public Health.
