Kristine Shmakov

Kristine Shmakov has been teaching Russian at PCC since 1993. She earned a Bachelor’s degree in Russian from the University of Oregon Honors College and a Master’s degree in Russian Language and Literature from the University of Washington, where she also taught Russian. Kristine has studied in St. Petersburg, Russia, and traveled Russia extensively over the last 30 years. She has written two Russian textbooks, Welcome: A Communicative Approach to Beginning Russian, and Poidyom: A Communicative Approach to 2nd year Russian, both of which are used in all PCC Russian language courses. Kristine teaches first-year Russian, second-year Russian, Russian Culture through Film, and Great Russian Writers at PCC.
